WhatsApp has rolled out a new feature in their business application that will make it easier for WhatsApp business users to buy products.
The instant messaging app launches a new feature called Catalog on the Business App available for business using the WhatsApp Business app in India, Brazil, Germany, Indonesia, Mexico, the UK and the United States.
What are the features of WhatsApp business?
Some of the features we currently offer in the app include a Business profile to list important information, such as a company’s address, email and website. Statistics to see how many messages were successfully sent, delivered, and read. Messaging tools to quickly respond to customers.
The catalogue feature for WhatsApp Business is already available in seven countries and is expected to roll out in other countries soon.
The new feature is available for both Android and iOS users.
WhatsApp says in a blog post, “The catalogues are a mobile storefront for businessmen to showcase and share products so people can easily browse and discover and buy something new.”
The post also noted, “Previously, customers had to send product photos once and repeatedly provided information – now customers would see their entire catalogue within WhatsApp.”
As part of catalogues, merchants can add product information such as pictures, names, prices, descriptions and links. WhatsApp is able to provide all such information so eliminating the need to visit the business website and order can be made directly through the app.
